My name is Niyantha Shekar and I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2010.

I’ve lived in 3 countries but I spent most of my impressionable youth in Chennai, India. My interests include photography, travel, cricket, writing, TV, films and discovering new music.

After the summer of 2007 when I did absolutely nothing, I decided to put my degree in progress to use. I worked as a Functional Verification Test Developer for IBM-Austin’s Websphere team from May-Aug 2008. I learnt a lot of cool stuff and I met a lot of great people (including an aggie who liked UT!).

I interned as a Program Manager for Microsoft in the Windows Live Experience team at Redmond, WA in the Summer of 2009. I loved the position (and the free soda!).
